Future Plans SOS
In August 2009, SOS acquired 20 Walworth Street, a 2,000 square foot, two apartment structure adjacent to property it already owned. That acquisition provided SOS with the opportunity to conduct a transitional housing pilot program.

The construction of a Human Services Complex, currently in the design and engineering stage, will connect the SOS emergency shelter and 20 Walworth Street incorporating a design that will be consistent with both the existing structures and the neighborhood.
Upon completion of the proposed additional space, Shelters of Saratoga complex will create: 6 additional men's emergency shelter beds for a total of 18 beds thus reducing the overflow of homeless males; relocation of the current 6 female emergency beds to a new location; provide 3 accessible emergency shelter beds; and add a new transitional housing facility with a capacity of 8 beds in individual efficiency units, one of which will be accessible. The total shelter capacity will increase from 22 to 32 beds resulting in a 45 percent increase in capacity.
